On view in both gallery spaces July 26—August 27, 2023.
Opening Reception: Saturday, August 5 (5-8pm)
AHA Night: Thursday, August 10 (5-8pm)

34 Augusts ago a group of artists came together to display their works in a makeshift gallery on Spring Street near the YWCA and the Zeiterion Theatre. From this initial exhibition Gallery X was born. Every August since that time Gallery X has celebrated with a large open-call, community art exhibition where any artist is welcome to exhibit any work of their choosing. This year’s Public Xhibition was no different, 61 artists answered the call and submitted 225 original works of art, making it our largest show of the year, even larger than last year’s!

Gallery X Unplugged:
Alongside the incredible visual art on display will be 2 free live music performances. On August 5 from 6-8pm Pumpkin Head Ted trio will perform during the opening reception. And on Thursday, August 10 from 6:30-8pm DD Bastos and Felix Rentschler will perform for AHA Night. Gallery X Unplugged is sponsored in part by a grant from the New Bedford Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
