Calling all Swain alumni and former faculty! Two amazing exhibitions dedicated to all Swain faculty and alumni.
SWAIN SCHOOL OF DESIGN ALUMNI & FACULTY SHOW 2023
at Gallery X (169 William Street)
This exhibition is open ALL who attended or taught at the Swain School of Design at any point. The artwork exhibited DOES NOT have to have been made during the artists’ time at Swain, any artwork made at anytime by faculty and alum can be displayed.
• Submission Fees (for non-members): $15 for the first piece, $10 for each additional piece (2 for $25, 3 for $35, 4 for $45, 5 for $55). GX members submit work for free!
• All forms of media are accepted; paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, etc.
• All work must be ready gallery ready and include proper hanging attachments (wire, sawtooth hanger, etc.). Pedestals are available for sculptures, three dimensional work, and jewelry.
• Gallery X handles all sales and retains a 35% commission on any sale made by non-members. Members are subject to 25% commission on works sold. Works do not have to be for sale to be included in the exhibition.
In conjunction with the Alumni & Faculty Exhibition will be a silent auction to support the Marc St. Pierre and David Loeffler Smith Memorial Scholarships at UMass Dartmouth.
If you are interested in donating artwork to be included in the Silent Auction please contact Charles Hauck (508-996-9768) (chasahauck@comcast.net). All proceeds from the silent auction will go to the UMASS Dartmouth Alumni Association to award and encourage students.
Melville Studios / Abby Saber Hunt House Exhibit
at the Whalehouse (100 Madison Street)
On view August 24 — October 1

Did you have a studio in the Swain Melville Studios? We are looking for artwork created in the building by students or faculty as well as any portraits of the building for an exhibit this summer. In addition to artwork there will be an exhibit on the building’s complete history.
If you have an old piece of student work you would like to submit (under 2×2 ft) , or know anyone who did have them contact Charles Hauck 508 996 9768.
